Camellias Women’s 26 Steel Boned Corset Review
Introduction
Camellias Women’s 26 Steel Boned Corset is a corset designed to be super-durable for long waist training wear and tight lacing while still being attractive and feminine.
Features
Heavy duty corseting capabilities
This is a corset that is designed to be tough enough to handle whatever you throw at it. Tight lacing? It has you covered. Intensive waist training? No problem. The main reason for this is it features 20 spiral steel bones and 6 steel bars—4 at the back and 2 at the front busk. With this premium architecture alone, you would have a corset to be reckoned with, but Camellias goes a step further by making it four fabric layers thick, with a double-layer of cotton interior for comfort.
Aesthetically pleasing
This corset is the very essence of Steampunk, and yet with its timeless Victorian aesthetic, less genre-specific fashionistas will also be fans of the look.
Perfect for waist training
Because of its extensive and well thought out architecture, the Camellias corset is ideal for waist training. You can start gently by not lacing it very tight; conversely, more experienced/eager waist trainers can ramp it up by tight lacing for a more wasp-y effect.
A great weight loss aid
Because the corset keeps your belly warm during wear, it creates the thermogenic effect which amps up your metabolism, causing you to burn more calories. When you burn more calories than you take in (with the combination of the calories you burn at rest, during your normal daily routine and during exercise), your body will start burning fat. For those with a large midsection, fat loss in the tummy area is key to better health, because it means there’s less fat in and around your organs; losing internal fat can help prevent heart and fatty liver disease.
Improves posture
Corsets force or enable you to stand up straight, depending on your starting posture or your needs. For large-breasted women, corsets rather enable you to stand straight instead of force you to, and they can greatly relieve back pain in the process.
First impression of Camellias Women’s 26 Steel Boned Corset
I was doubtful at first about whether or not a short corset would meet my needs, because I’m average height (5’5”) and I assumed it would only work well for petite women. However, after lacing it and putting it on, the results looked amazing. I instantly had the hourglass look I wanted, but I wanted to push it further and tight lace. Not only was that achievable, but it was surprisingly comfortable. It feels like all of those bones actually relieve and redistribute tight-lacing pressure, so the end result just feels better to wear.
Pros
What to like:
- It’s a short-waisted corset, so petite women won’t have a problem with length; despite this, it’s great for women of average or taller height as well who prefer a short corset
- Laces in the back and hooks in the front so you can tight lace your own corset without help
- Great for waist training and tight lacing
- Helps posture
- Aids weight loss via thermogenic effect
- Victorian/Steampunk look
Cons
What to consider:
- Women with very long torsos might find this corset too short even if they prefer a short corset
